Implementation of Environmental Communication Strategy in Sociopreneurship Program: 'Klinik Sungai'

Universitas Ciputra in Surabaya, Indonesia, is famous for its vision and mission in creating excellent entrepreneurs from Indonesia. In lin with its vision, therefore, the University emphasizes entrepreneurship spirit as it is the soul and foundation of each curriculum design in courses offered by the University. As well as for those who want to be entrepreneurs in profil sectors, the University supports and facilitates student who are also interested and have person to develop entrepreneurial skills in social and non-profit sectors. ‘Klinik Sungai’ –literary means river clinic- is a one-semester program designed and organized in a social entrepreneurship class by lecturers and students from different study majors at Universitas Ciputra in 2015. Main goal of this program is to educate society –especially in Surabaya and other areas within East Java- the importance of preserving clean and unpolluted river for sustainable health and development for the society. This paper descriptively addresses the implementation of environmental communication strategies in one of the sociopreneurship program taught at Universitas Ciputra, and highlights the problems and potential notions to be applied for sustaining the program.
