| dc.description | Based on the list of online bookstore in the world, then drawn with simple random
sampling and picked three websites that would be a comparison to design a new
online bookstore. All three websites that will be used as the comparison are
Gramedia Online, Bear Bookstore, and Dailylit. Because of the advantages and
disadvantages of each websites, then comes an idea to build a new business idea
that selling books via online and given name “Hi Books”. The features that will be
designed and manufactured in Hi Books include: book informatioin by category,
search book by title, contact us, registration, login/logout, view/edit user profile,
information of new book and bestseller, online shopping, checkout and its
confirmation, payment by bank transfer, and FAQ. There also additional feature to
give a review to a book that can be provided in two ways, giving review under
synopsis or giving review in a forum. To find out what method that user like, so
need a preeliminary research first. This website making used PHP and MySQL.
The method of making this thesis is a research and an experiment. Research using
survey method and experiment using SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
method. The purpose of this thesis is to design and create a website called Hi

| dc.description.abstract | Berdasarkan daftar toko buku online yang ada di dunia, maka diambil secara acak
(simple random sampling) tiga website yang akan menjadi perbandingan untuk
merancang sebuah website buku yang baru. Ketiga website yang akan dijadikan
perbandingan adalah Gramedia Online, Bear Bookstore, dan Dailylit. Karena
adanya kelebihan dan kekurangan dari masing-masing website tersebut, maka
muncullah sebuah ide bisnis yang bergerak di bidang penjualan buku secara
online, yang diberikan nama “Hi Books”. Fitur-fitur yang akan dirancang dan
dibuat dalam website Hi Books meliputi: informasi buku perkategori, pencarian
buku berdasarkan judul, contact us, pendaftaran, login/logout, view/edit data
pribadi user, informasi buku terbaru dan buku terlaris, online shopping, checkout
dan konfirmasi checkout, pembayaran dengan transfer antarbank, dan FAQ. Ada
pula tambahan fitur untuk me-review buku yang dapat diberikan dengan dua cara,
yakni dengan memberikan komentar biasa atau dengan melalui forum buku.
Untuk mengetahui cara manakah yang lebih diminati oleh user akan dilakukan
penelitian pendahulun. Dalam pembuatan website ini dipergunakan PHP dan
MySQL. Metode pembuatan tugas akhir adalah dengan survey dan eksperimen.
Metode penelitiannya menggunakan survey, sedangkan metode penyusunan tugas
akhir menggunakan metode SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle). Tujuan
dari tugas akhir ini adalah merancang dan membuat website Hi Books dengan
