| dc.description | Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, so it needs to be controlled. One of the biological vector control is using fish as predators, including lemon fish ( Labidochromis caeruleus ). The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in the predation power of male and female lemon fish ( L. caeruleus ) against Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae in the afternoon. This type of research is pre-experimental with a post-test only research design. This study used 10 aquariums, each containing 3 liters of water, 1 fish and 25 of Ae. aegypti larvae.Tests for each L. caeruleus fish with male and female sexes were carried out for five replications at 15.00 WIB. Fish predation was observed every 60 seconds until all larvae were eaten. The results showed that female lemon fish ( L. caeruleus ) was more effective in preying on 25 larvae in an average of 3.3 minutes and male lemon fish ( L. caeruleus ) in an average of 11.9 minutes. The results of the Mann Whitney test showed that there was a significant difference between the predation of male and female lemon fish groups. Female fish can be used as a natural predator of larvae. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) adalah penyakit yang disebabkan oleh virus dengue dan ditularkan oleh nyamuk Aedes aegypti sehingga perlu dilakukan pengendalian. Salah satu pengendalian vektor secara biologi yaitu menggunakan ikan sebagai predator, diantaranya adalah ikan lemon ( Labidochromis caeruleus ). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perbedaan daya predasi ikan lemon ( L. caeruleus ) jantan dan betina terhadap larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti di sore hari. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pra eksperimental dengan desain rancangan penelitan post test only design . Penelitian ini menggunakan 10 akuarium, masing-masing akuarium berisi 3 liter air, 1 ekor ikan dan 25 ekor larva Ae. aegypti . Pengujian setiap ikan L. caeruleus dengan jenis kelamin jantan dan betina dilakukan lima replikasi pada jam 15.00 WIB. Predasi ikan diamati setiap 60 detik hingga semua larva habis dimakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ikan lemon ( L. caeruleus ) betina lebih efektif dalam memangsa 25 ekor larva dalam rata- rata waktu 3,3 menit dan ikan lemon ( L. caeruleus ) jantan dalam rata-rata waktu 11,9 menit. Hasil uji Uji Mann Whitney didapatkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara predasi kelompok ikan lemon jantan dan ikan lemon betina . Ikan betina dapat digunakan sebagai predator alami larva. | en_US |
