| dc.description.abstract | Smoking among adolescents is a serious public health issue due to its harmful impact on both physical and mental development. This literature review aims to evaluate the influence of health promotion on increasing adolescents’ knowledge about the dangers of smoking. The study reviewed 18 articles that met inclusion criteria from databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. Findings indicate that health promotion interventions—whether through direct educational approaches or digital media such as educational videos and social media campaigns—are effective in enhancing adolescents’ understanding of smoking risks. Key success factors include the suitability of media to adolescent characteristics, interactive delivery methods, and strong social support. Implementation challenges include limited time within school curricula, insufficient training for educators, and permissive social environments regarding smoking. In conclusion, health promotion plays a critical role in building adolescents’ health literacy and should be supported by comprehensive and cross-sectoral strategies. | en_US |
