dc.descriptionNowadays, entrepreneurship is a quite familiar word for the society. There aremany factors that can influence someone’s effort to become a successfulentrepreneur. One of the factors considered to have considerable influence on thesuccess of a person is self-efficacy. In the field of entrepreneurship, this factor isknown as an entrepreneurial self-efficacy or commonly shortened to the ESE. Thehigher the ESE as owned by a person, the greater the chance for him or her will be tobecome a successful entrepreneur.The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between extrovert-introvert personalities with Entrepreneurial Self-efficacy (ESE) as owned by the XDepartment students at University Y, Surabaya, which has adopted entrepreneurship-based curriculum. The assumption of this study was that students with extrovertpersonality have high ESE.This study was a correlational research design. The instruments used tomeasure the data collected were the extrovert-introvert personality scale or EysenckPersonality Inventory (EPI), and the ESE scale as developed by De Noble et al(1977) that has been modified and translated. All X Department students atUniversity Y, Surabaya, which were 44 students, were treated as sample of this study.Furthermore, the collected data were analyzed by using Spearman's Rank correlationtest order through R 2.13.1. program.The results showed that there was a positive correlation between the extrovert-introvert personalities with entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) as owned by XDepartment students at University Y (rho = 0.3091, p <0,05). The more extrovertsthe student is, the higher the ESE will be. On the other hand, the more introverts thestudent is, and the lower the ESE will be. Strength of the correlation between the twovariables was quite low. Besides that, there were other factors that could influencethe ESE: parent’sjobs or professions,organizational experience and employmentstatus subject,and gender. These factors have not been depth-discussed in this studyand therefore can become the center of research in future studies.Because of the differences found in the ESE levels of the students who haveorganizational experience, the researchers then suggest the students to be moreinvolved in the organizational activities, in order to increase their ESE levels.en_US
dc.description.abstractPada zaman ini kataentrepreneurshipbukan sesuatu yang asing lagi untukdidengar. Ada banyak faktor yang dapat mempengaruhikesuksesanseseorang untukmenjadientrepreneuryang sukses. Salah satu faktor dianggap memiliki pengaruhyang cukup besar terhadap keberhasilan seseorang adalahself-efficacy. Dalam bidangentrepreneurshiphal inidikenaldenganentrepreneurial self-efficacyatau yang biasadisingkat menjadi ESE. Semakin tinggi ESE seseorang, maka peluangnya untuksuksesdalam bidangentrepreneurshipakan semakin besar.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kepribadianextrovert-introvertdenganEntrepreneurial Self-efficacy(ESE)pada mahasiswajurusan XuniversitasYSurabaya yang kurikulum pembelajarannya berbasisentrepreneurship. Diduga mahasiswa yang berkepribadianextrovertmemiliki ESEyangtinggi.Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah desain penelitian korelasional.Alatukuryang digunakan adalah skalakepribadianextrovert-introvertEysenckPersonality Inventory(EPI)dan skalaESEDe Noble et al (1977) yang telahdimodifikasi dan diterjemahkan. Sampelyang digunakan adalah keseluruhan jumlahpopulasi,yaitu44mahasiswajurusanX universitas YSurabaya. Selanjutnya, datayang terkumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakanuji korelasiSpearman’s Rank Orderdengan bantuan program R 2.13.1.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan positif antara kepribadianextrovert-introvertdenganentrepreneurial self-efficacy(ESE) pada mahasiswajurusan X universitas Y (rho = 0,3091; p < 0,05).Semakinextrovert, maka ESE yangdimiliki semakin tinggi dan sebaliknya semakinintrovert, maka ESE yang dimilikisemakin rendah. Kekuatankorelasi kedua variabel tergolong rendah.Faktor lain yangdidugamemiliki pengaruh terhadap ESE, yaitupekerjaan orangtua,pengalamanberorganisasi dan status pekerjaan subyek,dan gender yang belum dibahas secaramendalam dan dapat dikembangkan dalam penelitian selanjutnya.Mengingatadanya kecenderungan perbedaan tingkat ESE pada mahasiswa yangmemiliki pengalaman organisasi, maka peneliti menyarankan agar para mahasiswauntuk lebih terlibat dalam kegiatan organisasisebagai salah satu usaha meningkatESE mereka.en_US
