| dc.description | In this globalization era, business is getting more and more competitive from time to time in Indonesia. In order to be able to compete in the market, it is vital to have reliable and productive workforce. One of the key factors that influence their productivity is job satisfaction. In real estate company, salesperson plays a vital role, predominantly in making a selling. Job satisfaction among salesperson could be related to their competencies in dealing with people from various backgrounds. Openness to experience is assumed as a factor that has positive meaningful correlation with salesperson job competency. Furthermore, it will affect the job satisfaction. This study aimed to examine if there is a positive relationship between openness to experi ence and job satisfaction of PT. “X” Real Estate Agents salesperson in Surabaya. This study utilized quantitative approach with correlational design. Research data were collected using International Personality Item Pool (IPIP) by Goldberg (1999) and INDSALES Model by Comer, Machleit, and Lagace (1989) with some modifications. Incidental sampling technique were used to obtain sample (N = 83) from PT. “X” Real Estate Agents salesperson in Surabaya. As expected, the result obtained using Pearson Product Momen t correlational analysis showed that there is a positive relationship between openness to experience and job satisfaction of PT. “X” Real Estate Agents salesperson in Surabaya (r = 0,297; p-value < 0,05). The findings revealed that the higher the openness to experience a salesperson had, the higher job satisfaction he/she would derive. It was also found that openness to experience contributed 8.82% to job satisfaction. Furthermore, the study found four aspects of openness to experience; they were feeling, actions, ideas, and values which corresponded directly to job satisfaction. There were two also others aspects, imagination and aesthetic that indirectly correlated to job satisfaction. Based on the findings of this study, the author suggested that a number of trainings such as workshop, seminar, and outbound activity could be conducted for salesperson to be more open to experience so that they could derive higher job satisfaction. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | era globalisasi yang semakin kompetitif membuat persaingan usaha di Indonesia semakin ketat. Salah satu cara agar dapat bersaing adalah memiliki tenaga kerja yang handal dan produktif. Produktivitas tenaga kerja dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor salah satunya adalah kepuasan kerja. Pada perusahaan real estate, salesperson adalah sosok yang memiliki peran paling dominan terkait penjualan. Kepuasan kerja salesperson tidak lepas dari kompetensi yang harus dimiliki, dimana dihadapk an langsung dengan kondisi pasar yang sangat dinamis yang menuntut pengalaman bertemu dengan banyak orang. Keterbukaan terhadap pengalaman dianggap sebagai salah satu faktor yang diduga berhubungan dengan kompetensi yang harus dimiliki oleh seorang salesperson , yang kemudian berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara keterbukaan terhadap pengalaman dan kepuasan kerja pada salesperson PT. “X” Real Estate Agents di Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Data penelitian didapatkan dengan menggunakan alat ukur keterbukaan terhadap pengalaman yakni skala International Personality Item Pool ( IPIP ) modifikasi dari Goldberg (1999) dan skala INDSALES Model modif ikasi dari Comer, Machleit, dan Lagace (1989). Sampel (N = 83) diambil dari populasi salesperson PT. “X” Real Estate Agents di Surabaya menggunakan teknik incidental sampling . Analisa data menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment menunjukkan ada hubungan positif antara keterbukaan terhadap pengalaman dan kepuasan kerja pada salesperson PT. “X” Real Estate Agents di Surabaya (r = 0,297; p-value < 0,05). Artinya, semakin tinggi keterbukaan terhadap pengalaman yang dimiliki oleh salesperson , semakin tinggi pula kepuasan kerja yang dirasakan salesperson tersebut. Sumbangan efektif keterbukaan terhadap pengalaman terhadap kepuasan kerja adalah sebesar 8.82%. Penelitian ini menemukan empat aspek keterbukaan terhadap pengalaman yang berhubungan langsung dengan kepuasan kerja yaitu perasaaan , tindakan, ide-ide dan nilai-nilai. Sementara, dua aspek lainnya tidak berhubungan langsung dengan kepuasan kerja yaitu imajinasi dan ketertarikan artistik. Melihat adanya hubungan antara keterbukaan terhadap pengalaman dan kepuasan kerja, peneliti menyarankan perusahaan mengadakan berbagai pelatihan untuk salesperson agar terbuka terhadap pengalaman melalui workshop, seminar, training dan lainnya, sehingga kepuasan kerjanya meningkat. | en_US |
