dc.descriptionCompanies need productive employees to be able to compete i n the global era. Therefore, organizational citizenship behavior is needed in the company. However, there are many employees who are less aware of the importance of OCB. There are also employees who would steal or do corruption for their personal interests, playing truant or tardy, and some even behaved violently to consumers. The factor suspected to influence OCB is the personality such as the big five personality. This study uses a quantitative research with a correlational design and an accidental samplin g technique. The big five personality was adapted from Sari (2010) and the OCB data were adapted from Gunawan (2010). Subjects who participated in this study were 24 employees from various divisions at PT. X. The results showed that two aspects of the big five personality, e motional stability and extraversion , not correlated with OCB, while the three other aspects of the big five personality, openness to experience ), agreeableness , and conscientiousness correlated positively and signitificantly with OCB. Based on these results, the higher the agreeableness and the conscientiousness, the higher the level of OCB of the employees. In addition, women and people over 40 years of age also play a role in the high rates of employees’ OCB. Based on the positive correlation among openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness, the researcher suggests employees to maintain and continue to improve th eir openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness. In addition, employees need to be open regarding information and to not expect rewards from the company.en_US
dc.description.abstractPerusahaan memerlukan karyawan yang produktif untuk mampu bersaing di era global. Oleh sebab itu diperlukan organizational citizenship behavior dalam perusahaan. Akan tetapi masih banyak karyawan yang kurang menyadari pentingnya OCB dalam bekerja. Masih ada karyawan yang mencuri atau korupsi untuk kepentingan pribadi, bolos atau telat, bahkan ada yang berperilaku kasar kepada konsumen. Faktor yang di duga mempengaruhi OCB salah satunya adalah kepribadi an, seperti kepribadian big five. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional dan menggunakan teknik accidental sampling . Data kepribadian big five diadaptasi dari Sari (2010) dan data OCB diadaptasi dari Gunawan (2010). Subjek yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 24 orang karyawan dari berbagai divisi di PT. X. Hasil penelitian menunjukan dua aspek dari kepribadian big five yaitu emotional stability dan extraversion ti dak berhungan dengan OCB, sedangkan tiga aspek dari kepribadian big five, openness to experience agreeableness dan conscientiousness berhubungan positif dan signitifikan dengan OCB. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian berarti semakin tinggi agreeableness dan conscientiousness , maka semakin tinggi OCB yang dimiliki oleh karyawan. Selain itu wanita dan usia tua juga berperan dalam tingginya tingkat OCB yang dimiliki oleh karyawan. Berdasarkan korelasi positif antara openness to experience, agreeableness, conscientiousness peneliti menyarankan karyawan agar mampu mempertahankan dan terus meningkatkan sikap openness to experience, agreeableness, conscientiousness yang telah dimiliki. Selain itu karyawan perlu saling terbuka akan informasi dan tidak mengharap reward dari perusahaanen_US
