Abstract
SDGs is one of the international agendas compiled by the United Nations (United Nations), including Indonesia, to end poverty, reduce inequality, and protect the environment. It has 17 goals and 169 targets that are expected to be achieved by 2030. In achieving the goals and targets, the SDGs are divided into 4 pillars, one of which is closely related to the field of architecture, namely the environmental development pillar. One of the goals of the Environmental Development Pillar is responsible consumption and production, and tackling climate change. This study uses quantitative methods by collecting data through a survey using Google Form, as well as qualitative methods by collecting data based on the results of observations, analysis, and literature studies. The environmental damage caused by the construction and operation of buildings has reached record highs. The United Nations (UN) reports that the construction and operation of buildings accounted for more than a third of global carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions last year. In recent years, the global community has begun to realize the importance of preserving the environment for future generations. This awareness has also given birth to various new trends and habits in design. Sustainability is a trend to be noticed. In realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the focus is on goal (12) Responsible Consumption and Production and goal (13) Climate Action. This includes providing effective design services based on clients’ needs, desires, and budgets, in accordance with the focus of the Green Design approach in the Material Resource and Cycle (MRC) category. This approach encourages the use of non-hazardous materials in terms of hazardous chemical content, as well as materials that are easy to clean.
