dc.descriptionInvestment has become a promising new business area and has become  something that many people are looking for and running. One type of investment  that is in great demand is stock investment. The majority of stock investors in  Indonesia are generation Z who actively use social media. This study aims to  determine the effect of overconfidence, social media, personal interest, and  financial knowledge as independent variables on the dependent variable of  irrational investment decision making Generation Z in Surabaya City. This study  uses a descriptive quantitative approach. Data processing uses multiple linear  regression analysis with the help of the SPSS application. The sample of this  research is 100 generation Z people in the city of Surabaya. The data collection  technique uses an online questionnaire survey. This research will use  nonprobability sampling technique with purposive sampling technique. In the  general description section of the respondents will present data on the percentage  of respondents based on gender, age, domicile, have invested in stocks, last  education level and social media used. The results showed that overconfidence,  social media, personal interest, and financial knowledge had a significant and  positive effect on irrational investment decision making Generation Z in Surabaya City.en_US
dc.description.abstractInvestasi telah menjadi lahan bisnis baru yang menjanjikan dan sudah  menjadi hal yang dicari serta dijalankan oleh banyak orang. Salah satu jenis  investasi yang banyak diminati adalah investasi saham. Mayoritas investor saham  di Indonesia adalah generasi Z yang aktif menggunakan media sosial. Penelitian ini  bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh overconfidence, media sosial, personal  interest, dan financial knowledge sebagai variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat  irrational investment decision making Generasi Z di Kota Surabaya. Penelitian ini  menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif. Pengolahan data menggunakan  analisis regresi linear berganda dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS. Sampel penelitian  ini berjumlah 100 orang generasi Z di Kota Surabaya. Teknik pengumpulan data  menggunakan survei kuesioner secara online. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan  teknik sampling Nonprobability sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pada  bagian gambaran umum responden akan menyajikan data persentase responden  berdasarkan jenis kelamin, usia, domisili, pernah melakukan investasi saham,  tingkat pendidikan terakhir dan media sosial yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian  menunjukkan bahwa overconfidence, media sosial, personal interest, dan financial  knowledge berpengaruh secara signifikan dan positif terhadap irrational investment decision making Generasi Z di Kota Surabaya.en_US
