| dc.description | The Aedes aegypti mosquito is known as the main vector of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in the world. Dengue vaccines and drugs are still not available. The priority for the Ministry of Health to prevent DHF is to control the population of the Aedes aegypti mosquito vector. Pandan Wangi leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius) have potential as larvicide but not much information about their mechanism of action. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Pandanus amaryllifolius methanol extract on the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) enzyme of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae. This type of research is a pure experiment with a post test only control group design research design. The treatment group consisted of the Pandanus amaryllifolius methanol extract group from Surabaya, the distilled water group as the negative control, and the temephos group as the negative control. Each group was replicate three times. The test was carried out for 24 hours and then the AChE enzyme was examined. Data were analyzed with SPSS using descriptive statistics and Kruskall Wallis. The results of this study showed that the levels of AChE in Aedes aegypti larvae that died after exposure to the extract were lower (230.88 units/l) when compared to larvae exposed to the negative control (323.23 units/l) and positive control (279.94 units/l). l). The AChE enzyme levels of mosquito larvae in the three treatment groups had no significant difference (p > 0.05). | dc.description.abstract | Nyamuk Aedes aegypti dikenal sebagai vektor utama penyakit Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) di dunia. Vaksin dan obat DBD masih belum tersedia. Prioritas Kementerian Kesehatan untuk mencegah penyakit DBD adalah mengontrol populasi vektor nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Daun pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius) memiliki potensi sebagai larvasida tetapi belum banyak informasi mengenai mekanisme kerjanya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak metanol Pandanus amaryllifolius pada enzim asetilkolinesterase (AChE) larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen murni dengan desain rancangan penelitan post test only control group design. Kelompok perlakuan terdiri dari kelompok ekstrak metanol Pandanus amaryllifolius dari Surabaya, kelompok akuades sebagai kontrol negatif, dan kelompok temephos sebagai kontrol negatif. Replikasi sebanyak tiga kali. Pengujian dilakukan selama 24 jam kemudian dilakukan pemeriksaan enzim AChE. Data dianalisis dengan SPSS menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan Kruskall Wallis. Hasil Penelitian ini adalah kadar AChE pada larva Aedes aegypti yang mati setelah terpapar ekstrak lebih rendah (230,88 unit/l) jika dibandingkan dengan larva yang terpapar kontrol negatif (323,23 unit/l) dan kontrol positif (279,94 unit/l). Kadar enzim AChE larva nyamuk pada tiga kelompok perlakuan memiliki perbedaan yang tidak signifikan (p > 0,05). Ekstrak methanol Pandanus amaryllifolius dari Surabaya memiliki mekanisme kerja sebagai racun saraf, yaitu menghambat enzim AChE. | en_US |
