dc.description.abstractEntrepreneurship awareness in Indonesia has growth increasingly nowadays which is shown by the growth of many bazaars events supporting start-up businesses selling so many kinds of products and services. The successful of those start-up entrepreneurs is supported by a system of mentoring. There are many kinds of mentoring models held by certain institutions and consultants. Lately, a mentoring model is adopted in various universities as one method to help students to have a spirit of entrepreneurship and able to develop their businesses. Therefore, this research aims to describe a mentoring model which is appropriate to foster and improve the entrepreneurial spirit of students in executing and running their businesses. Mentoring is a common approach in a business that is often used in the staff development. The importance of developing the spirit of entrepreneurship among the students is to prepare them able to open their own independent businesses and encourage them to not passively wait for the opening of employment application from any company and depends on it. This research describes a mentoring model that has been practiced by the faculty and positively perceived by the students. Positively perceived means that the mentoring model contributes in shaping the entrepreneurial spirit of students and develop their businesses. There are ten mentors and ten students as mentees who become the subjects of this research. The research design is qualitative with the instruments of interviews, i.e., structured (one-and-one) and semi-structured (focus group discussion) interviews.en_US
