dc.description.abstractIn these decades, intact families were decreasing significantly. As the consequence, many children were born and raised in single parent families. Most of single parent families are fatherless families. Father’s death, divorce, separation, and out-of-wedlock birth became the cause of fatherless families. Especially for fatherless teen, they were associated with many negative problems, such as physical, emotional, and academic problem, even some of them are entrapped in alcohol and crime. The researcher assumes that those negative problems related with the change of fatherless family. The aim of this research is describing the change of fatherless teen after fatherless happened. Subjects of this research were 13-18 years old fatherless subjects from three junior and three senior high school (N=85). It was found that most of mother experienced positive change in behavior after father loss however most subjects experienced emotional problem. Most subjects also told about their process to be independent, ethical behaving, and enthusiastic in life. It can be varied based on the cause of fatherless and the age of subjects when father loss happened. Among the negative association of fatherless family in many researches, positive change of the subjects’ mothers can be a possibility for understandingen_US
