dc.description.abstractThe main purpose for young generations to continue their education in universities is to get a higher education so that they will get a better career in the future. An increasing number of university graduates in Indonesia is followed by the increase of unemployment rate, which stimulates some university graduates to become an entrepreneur. This study will be conducted to examine the effect of mediating role of intrinsic motivation on the relationship of cognitive aspects in the teaching-learning process in universities and creative behavior of young entrepreneur in Surabaya. The method used in this study is quantitative method The population of this research were young entrepreneurs in Surabaya. The sample was determined by using purposive sampling so that there were 130 young entrepreneurs. The tool used to collect data was self-administered questionnaire. The methodology used to analyze was hierarchical regression analysis, based on theory of Baron and Kenny (1986). The results showed that intrinsic motivation partially mediates the relationship between cognitive aspects and individual creative behaviour. It means that the cognitive aspects significantly decline in motivating individual’s creative behaviour when intrinsic motivation is controlled. This is interesting because it can be used as a contribution to researches related to intrinsic motivations and also to address inconsistencies of mediating role of intrinsic motivation and contextual characteristics on creativity relationship.en_US
