APLIKASI KONSEP WEARABLE TECHNOLOGY PADA DESAIN PRODUK FESYEN MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS CIPUTRA

Abstract

The significance of technology in the 21st century is more prominent and inseparable from the daily lives. Wearable technology as the combination of fashion product and technology has evolved and adopted by consumers along with the progression of era and lifestyle. An Universitas Ciputra Surabaya student created a women’s sportswear by applying the wearable technology concept to respond to the cycling trend and the safety issues faced by cyclists on the roads. The wearable technology design with E-Sport theme was inspired by urban streetwear and LED installation on the jacket to function as turn and stop signals to lower the risk of accidents when the wearer is cycling on the street especially at night time. In the near future the application of wearable technology concept to fashion products progressively will be more seamless and become more widespread as a lifestyle.
