dc.description.abstractIndonesia is a rich country of natural resources; agricultural sector is the obvious example of it. Among various types of plantation in agricultural sector, cocoa is one of the highlighted products to be recognized. Cocoa is a product of the plantation which still has many opportunities to be exported. These opportunities should carefully be managed in order to reach it optimum result. With the export orientation, opportunity for Indonesia cocoa is widely open. This research aims to show the potency of cocoa market by presenting some data dealing with the cocoa and attempts to discover the opportunities and barriers of the Indonesian cocoa export by examining the data collected dealing with the Indonesian cocoa product. The result of the research is aimed to give a picture dealing with the market potency of cocoa so that it can be used to draw an export strategy during trade liberalization. At the end of this paper, I provide conclusion and suggestion on how Indonesia can improve its position as cocoa producer in the world market, not only by quantity but also in quality of the product as wellen_US
