RESPON SISWA SMU SEDERAJAT TERHADAP PENGGUNAAN MULTIMEDIA DALAM PRESENTASI UNTUK PROMOSI PERGURUAN TINGGI

Abstract

One of the strategy for promoting university is through presentations at schools which became the target namely senior high school or equivalent. Presentation is one of the methods in communication to convey the message. The main purpose of presentation is to deliver material to the audience. To achieve the goals namely material delivery, tools and media are needed to support the message delivery to the audience. Every early and mid-term of a school year, senior high school or equivalent always give the opportunity for university to present its campus. The time given to present their campuses are about 15-20 minutes for each universities. With a limited time given, an effective, brief, concentrated, clear and attractive to promote as well as communicate the university to the students within the specified allocated time. Multimedia is one of the media to support presentations. It support the presentation by utilizing the aid of visual, audio, and text support to help clarify even further the intent and meaning to be conveyed within a certain time. This research aims to observe about how senior high school students or equivalent respond toward the presentation with the multimedia support. This study use qualitative methods with 20 respondents (10 male and 10 female). The results of this study all the respondent agree that presentation using multimedia is an effective means to transfer the message and help in promotion in a limited time to the audience
