PENGGUNAAN TEKNIK IKAT CELUP SEBAGAI UPAYA DAUR ULANG UNTUK MENGATASI MASALAH LIMBAH PAKAIAN BEKAS

Abstract

Along with the development of the fashion industry, many manufacturers are declining the quality standards for raw materials. It makes the color of the clothes easily fade. Then the clothes become used clothing and discarded by the owner. It is potentially accumulate in the landfills and pollute the environment. This scientific journal article communicates the idea of using tie-dye or “Ikat Celup” technique as a recycling effort to solve the problem of the used clothing waste by reusing it, especially the faded clothes. ”Ikat Celup” is a technique of dyeing fabric by binding the fabric and covering the parts that do not want to be colored. This research will contain the advantages and disadvantages of “Ikat Celup” technique and recycling theory with the aim to find out how far this idea can be applied. The data in this study were analyzed by qualitative methods.
