What Tourism Can Do in Wonosalam
Abstract
District Wonosalam Jombang is upstream of the Brantas River and Springs Village. In Wonosalam, the springs had to be rescued by promoting the participation of local residents.The development of community-basei tourism if closely related and his am consisting of agrotourism, springs, biodiversity and history, should provide wide opportunity for local residents to get involved in the tourism industry that utilize local resources as objects and tourist attraction. Community involvement is essential to create wealth, to foster a sense of ownership and responsibility for the existence and environmental sustainabilitity. The application of community-based tourism, where the public is involve in decision-making in every activity related to tourism, according to the characteristics of Wonosalam. Faculty of Turism, University of Ciputra, propose the community service’s program to Research, Technology and Higher Education Ministry Republic of Indonesia. The progam focused on three aspects: products, services and management. Through training, workshops and mentoring ielated to local conditions, is expected to have an effective impact on the growth of eco-tourism destination wonosalam. There are two development patterns of rural tourism: the cluster (one village one product) and a multi-activity pattems (natural, cultural, life of the community). The village is a mix of originality, authenticity, uniqueness, loyality and continuity of local structures such as the appeal and rule the natural environment of rural. culturai attraction behavior of rural communities in both dimensions patemalistic traditions, cultural, economic, cultual fit-planting, home of traditional institutions and patterns of everyday life (people living style). The development model of rural tourism is the right choice in Wonosalam The reason are, first, it does not require the completion of capital investment and huge financial Second, the availability of a range of tourist attractions are not dependent on the time line because integrated with civilization. Third, it can provide increased economic welfare of rural communities. Fourth, in non-economically aspect, can strengthen the image ofthe village culture and the society. The concept of rural tourism development using the bottom-up approach by relying on local knowledge and local geneous without changing or shifting ofvalues and norms that have taken place in ihe social system of the village.
