Implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in tourism has not been understood and applied
in the Surabaya tourism stakeholders. In general, CSR is applied in the field of education, health and the
environment. However, in this study it was found that the implementation of CSR in some areas in Surabaya,
the field of landscaping for example, actually including CSR in tourism.
This article is a descriptive qualitative research by using content analysis method to review regulations,
bureaucracy and examples of CSR implementation in Surabaya. The primary data sources have been taken
from observation of CSR object and interview with relevant government agencies. Secondary data sources
are from Surabaya Government cooperation documents and regulations related to CSR.
Results of this study concluded: (1) the implementation of CSR in the field of tourism in the city of
Surabaya in teams across departments / agencies, (2) object of CSR in tourism are all aspects related to
tourism activities, including the city park, as well as the development of new tourist destinations such as
Jambangan Tourism Village, (3) there is a trend of companies doing CSR in the field of tourism as a social
response, due solely to contribute or contribute to the city of Surabaya as an expression of gratitude to the
government and society, (4) CSR Tourism in Surabaya was its teamwork
