THE INFLUENCE OF PERCEIVED USEFULNESS AND PERCEIVED EASE OF USE TOWARDS INTENTION TO USE MY GUARD APPLICATION
Abstract
The GDP in travelling industry is increasing throughout the years until almost 16 billion Rupiah in 2019. The increase of GDP is also the effect of increased in tourist arrivals. While the number is increasing throughout the year, people still feel insecure, especially about criminality rate at their destination. Thus, My Guard is an application that provide several features that may lower the feeling of insecurity of these travelers by providing visual information about places that are considered ‘dangerous’ and a panic button that when pressed can directly and immediately call the local police. The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of Perceived Usefulness (X1) and Perceived Ease of Use (X2) toward Intention to Use (Y1) My Guard Application. The Technology Acceptance Model is used as the determinants of this research because the model is mostly used to research about the adoption of technologies. The research is conducted quantitively, so in order to collect the data, the researcher did user testing throughout the whole sample. The questions are distributed through printed questionnaires to 60 qualified Ciputra University students using purposive sampling methods. The data then is processed using multiple linear regression
The result shows that all the variables, which are Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use, are both significantly affects Intention to Use My Guard Application. The degree of independent variable explaining the influence of Intention to Use My Guard Application is 34.6%
