| dc.description.abstract | Surabaya is a city with a high population density. The population density brings some bad impacts which certainly can not be solved by governments alone. Initiative of the people is needed so that the various problems can be resolved properly. Therefore emerge a movement called “Social Entrepreneurship”. This movement uses the principles as practiced in the industry, but it is not profit-oriented but value-oriented. AHA Training Center, a nongovernment organization, performs the social entrepreneurship through an activity called “River Clinic”, which encourage high school students in Surabaya to write their concerns on the conditions of the Sungai Mas. In those efforts, they carry out a communication process to high school students. The purpose of this communication process is to gradually provide an understanding of the poor condition of the Sungai Mas, make them aware of the impact on the condition, raise their concerns, and could eventually encourage them to raise a change to the surrounding environment. Based on this background, this paper examines the communication process that is conducted in the River Clinic activity. This research conducted with descriptive qualitative method. The result of this study describes the role of communicator, message composition, media selection, and comprehension of the communicant, which generate a certain effect as the final results of River Clinic Activity. | en_US |
