Surabaya’s Tourism Icons and Sustainable Heritage Tourism

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify places that can be recommended as Surabaya tourism icons. Adopting a qualitative research design, thematic analysis was conducted on the data collected from interviewing three informants. Based on the results, Kota Tua of Surabaya, Tugu Pahlawan, and Jalan Tunjungan in the city of Surabaya were identified and proposed for tourism development, specifically for post-COVID-19 tourism. These Surabaya tourism icons can significantly popularise Surabaya and sustain its tourism industry.
