| dc.description.abstract | ANALYSIS OF BONIFOOD MAKMUR AS A START-UP BUSINESS: PROBLEMS AND ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS
Starting a business is not easy, especially if there is more than one business
owner. Start-up business, in particular, cannot afford to fail. This study analyzes the
problems that often arise in today's business set up and the alternative solutions for
these problems. Using qualitative method, this research dissects the relationship
between co-founders. Interviews are conducted towards people who are closely
related to the company, which include the co-founders, facilitator, and a close friend
of the co-founders. Equipped with the company data and interview data, the study
observes Bonifood Makmur's progress as a newly established business for a year. This
study focuses on the aspects of teamwork, job description, and motivation.
Study results indicate several problems which seem to be the cause for the
company's low performance. These problems include the absence of a clear job
description and minimum working hours, poor communication and time
management, and the inexistence of profit sharing in the form of salaries. These
problems are mainly caused by the co-founders' failure to create a written agreement
at the start of the business establishment.
This research concludes that any problem or deficiency that occurs in
Bonifood Makmur is caused by the absence of a written agreement between the cofounders.
Moreover, these problems are the main cause for the company's inability to
meet the target. Suggestions from this research include creating a written agreement
which consists of clear job descriptions, making a work schedule, limiting the
authority of each person, and sharing profit. | en_US |
