| dc.description | The purpose of this research is to analy ze the factors affecting the suc c ession process in the family business in East Java, Indonesia. The variable s used in this research are succession planning (X 1 ), preparation of heirs (X 2), relationships among family members (X 3 ) as independent variables while successful transition (Y) and post transition performance (Z) act as dependent variables . Succes s ion planning consists of 5 indicators, namely selection mechanism of heirs, succession time definition , use of consultants, understanding of the board regarding the transition process, and company rules about the transition. Preparation of heirs consists of 4 indicators namely formal education requirement of heirs, work experience requirement, management advice from predecessors, and entry position for the heirs. Relationships among fami ly members uses 9 indicators of open communication among family members, regular meeting among family members involved in business, regular gathering with family members outside the business, family members’ rights and obligations, conflict resolution, sup port of family members to the business, family member’s board meeting, meeting with family members outside the business, and the rules of relationship between business and family members. Successful transition uses 4 indicators namely time span, transition process , delegation of authority, and the control of authority in successor. Post transition performance can be measured by 5 indicators namely sales growth, employment growth, asset growth, product line growth, and market share growth. Questionnaires are used to collect the study data. Additionally, quantitative analysis with path analysis is used as analysis tool. The population in this study is medium and large scale family business in Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Mojokerto, Pasuruan, dan Gresik. Samples are taken from 43 family business es with total employment of minimum 20 and have performed at least one generational transition. The statistic analys is findings reflect the non - significant relationship between succession planning and preparation o f heirs towards successful transition. While relationships among family members gives the most significant influence on the successful transition, as well as the significant influence between successful transition to the post transition performance. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengan alisis faktor - faktor yang mem e ngaruhi keberhasilan suksesi bisnis keluarga di Jawa Timur. Variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah variabel bebas Persiapan Suksesi (X 1 ), Persiapan Calon Penerus (X 2 ), Hubungan Antara Anggota Keluarga (X 3 ) serta variabel ter ik at Keberhas ilan Proses Suksesi (Y) dan Pe rf orma Bisn is Pasca Suksesi (Z). Variabel p ersiapan s uks esi memiliki 5 indikator yaitu m ekanisme pemilihan calon penerus, p enentuan target waktu, pengguna an jasa konsultan, pemahaman pemangku kepentingan dan peraturan perusahaan te ntang suksesi bisnis. Variabel p ersiapan c alon p enerus memiliki 4 indikator yaitu syarat pendidikan formal bagi calon penerus, syarat pengalaman kerja tertentu, bimbingan manajem en dari pendahulu dan posisi jabatan terte ntu bagi calon penerus. Variabel h ubungan a ntar a nggota k eluarga memiliki 9 indikator yaitu keterbukaan antar anggota keluarga , pertemuan berkala pengurus bisnis keluarga, gathering dengan anggota keluarga di luar bisnis, hak dan kewajiban anggota keluarga, mekanisme penyelesaian konflik, dukungan anggota keluarga terhadap bisnis, rapat pengurus bisnis, rapat dengan keluarga di luar bisnis, aturan tentang hubungan bisnis dengan keluarga. Variabel k eberhasilan p roses s uksesi memiliki 4 indikator yaitu rentang waktu, kelancaran transisi, pendelegasian wewenang dan tanggung jawab, kendali dan tanggung jawab generasi pe nerus. Variabel p erforma p asca s uksesi memiliki 5 indikator yaitu peningkatan penj ualan, pertumbu han jumlah kar yaw an, pertumbuhan as et perusahaan, peningkatan jum l ah produk dan peningkatan market share . Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Alat analisis yang digunakan a dalah analisis kuanti tatif dengan menggunakan analisis jalur. Populasi peneliti an adalah perusahaan keluarga skala men engah dan besar yang berada di wilayah kota/kabupaten Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Mojokerto, Pasuruan, dan Gresik. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 43 perusahaan keluarga dengan jumlah karya w an minimum 20 orang dan yang sudah pern ah melakukan suksesi minimum satu kali . Berdasarkan hasil analisi s statistik diketahui bahwa p ersiap an suksesi dan p ersiapan c alon p enerus berpengaruh positif terhadap proses suksesi, tetapi tidak signifikan. Sedangkan Hubungan antara anggota keluarga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap proses suksesi demikian juga proses suksesi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap performa bisnis pasca sukses i. | en_US |
