dc.descriptionDuring the Covid-19 pandemic, many industries need innovation in order to survive and innovation is driven by the leader, especially leadership behavior. This study examines the influence of leadership behavior for innovation performances at five-star hotels that just opened during the Covid-19 pandemic and were affected by road closures or government regulations. The findings found that there are 5 leadership behaviors possessed by leaders, of which 2 are the basic traits of transformational and servant leadership, namely innovative thinking and staff development and 3 of them are leaders' entrepreneurial behavior, namely market sensitivity and proactive, high determination and never give up (persistence) and also courage (calculated risk taker). In addition, the leadership behavior that was found was deemed insufficient in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. Leaders must also have a mindset that is sensitive to the current pandemic condition (pandemic mindset) and risk tolerance in order to create innovation that has excellence performances.This research was conducted at 2 five-star hotels in Surabaya that were affected by road closures, which are Double Tree by Hilton at Tunjungan Street and Royal Tulip Darmo at Bintoro Street. The research uses a qualitative approach with the research subject high decision maker (Director/General Manager/Owner). The data collection method used was purposive sampling with in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The data confirmation is carried out to measure the accuracy of the data by interviewing employees, visitors and documentation. dc.description.abstractPada masa pandemi Covid – 19 ini, banyak industri memerlukan inovasi guna mempertahankan bisnisnya (survive) dan inovasi itu didorong dari leader itu sendiri, terutama leadership behavior. Penelitian ini meneliti pengaruh leadership behavior terhadap innovation performances pada hotel bintang lima yang baru buka saat pandemi Covid – 19 sedang berlangsung dan terdampak oleh adanya penutupan jalan atau regulasi pemerintah. Hasil temuan menemukan bahwa terdapat 5 leadership behavior yang dimiliki leader, dimana 2 diantaranya merupakan trait dasar dari transformational dan servant leadership yaitu innovative thinking dan staff development serta 3 diantaranya merupakan leaders’ entrepreneurial behavior yaitu market sensitivity dan proactive, high determination dan never give up (persistence) serta berani (calculated risk taker). Selain itu, leadership behavior yang ditemukan dirasa kurang cukup mampu dalam menghadapi masa pandemi Covid – 19. Leader juga harus memiliki mindset yang peka terhadap kondisi pandemi saat ini (pandemic mindset) dan risk tolerance guna mendapatkan innovation performances yang baik. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 2 hotel bintang lima di Surabaya yang terkena dampak penutupan jalan yaitu Double Tree by Hilton di Jalan Tunjungan dan Royal Tulip Darmo di Jalan Bintoro. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian high decision maker (Director/General Manager/Owner). Metode pengumpulan data yang dilakukan menggunakan purposive sampling dengan wawancara secara mendalam, observasi dan dokumentasi. Adapun konfirmasi data yang dilakukan guna mengukur keakuratan data dengan wawancara kepada karyawan, pengunjung dan dokumentasi. Selain itu, pada penelitian ini juga dilakukan model data analisis secara case study.en_US
