THE INFLUENCE OF INTRINSIC REWARDS, EXTRINSIC REWARDS, AND RECOGNITION TOWARD EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE AT PT BANTER PRIMA SENTOSA IN GRESIK AND SURABAYA
Abstract
The APBN (Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Negara) for infrastructure
development from 2017 – 2019 continued to increase. It can indicate that there are
great opportunities for infrastructure development projects such as dredging,
revitalization, and reclamation projects in Indonesia. Due to this positive trend, PT
Banter Prima Sentosa has many opportunities in the dredging project, and lead the
company to survive. However, with the increase of dredging projects, the company does
not have good employee performance to fulfil the project on time because the
employees have problem with motivation.
To further analyse this, the researcher distributed 37 questionnaires to the
employees in PT Banter Prima Sentosa in Surabaya and Gresik on October 2019,
and used random sampling method to find out the influence of Intrinsic Rewards,
Extrinsic Rewards, and Recognition towards Employee Performance in PT Banter
Prima Sentosa in Surabaya and Gresik.
Offline questionnaires were distributed to the sample using 5-point Likert Scale
and the data collected was analysed using Multiple Linear Regression. The Multiple
Linear Regression result suggests that intrinsic rewards (Sig. Value= 0.47) and
recognition (0.98) have no significant relationship with employee performance in
PT Banter Prima Sentosa, while extrinsic rewards (0.012) has significant
relationship with employee performance in PT Banter Prima Sentosa.
